Develop using Agile

Agile software development is a conceptual framework for undertaking software engineering projects. At MTechnology Services, we embrace the development Scrum, where a complex project is broken into small pieces, design reviewed with the customer, and developed in a sprint (a short development package, normally over a few weeks).

Most agile methods attempt to minimize risk by developing software in short timeboxes, called iterations, which typically last one to four weeks. Each iteration is like a miniature software project of its own, and includes all the tasks necessary to release the mini-increment of new functionality: planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation. While iteration may not add enough functionality to warrant releasing the product, an agile software project intends to be capable of releasing new software at the end of every iteration. At the end of each iteration, the team reevaluates project priorities.

Our Agile methods emphasize realtime communication, preferably face-to-face, over written documents. Most agile teams are located in a bullpen and include all the people necessary to finish the software. At a minimum, this includes programmers and the people who define the product such as product managers, business analysts, or actual customers. The bullpen may also include testers, interface designers, technical writers, and management .

Capability Maturity Tool Set

We use the following tool set to bring the best out of our deliverables.

Documentation and Project Management
Office 365 / Sharepoint

Office 365 is the brand name Microsoft uses for a group of subscriptions that provide productivity software and related services. For consumers, the subscription allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Windows 10 Mobile, provides storage space on the OneDrive file hosting service, and use of Skype for business. Office 365 also offers service subscriptions for e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer.

With Sharepoint for Office 365 MTechnology Services creates an shared and easily accessible project management workspace where customers and developers can share ideas, documents and progress.

Issue Tracking

Jira Software is an agile project management tool that supports any agile methodology, be it scrum, kanban, or your own unique flavor. From agile boards to reports, you can plan, track, and manage all your agile software development projects from a single tool.

With Jira, MTechnology Services allows customers to raise issues direct with the development team and be notified of product changes, fixes and updates as they happen.

Source Control

GitHub is a web-based hosting service for version control using git. It is mostly used for computer code. It offers all of the distributed version control and source code management (SCM) functionality of Git as well as adding its own features. It provides access control and several collaboration features such as bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and wikis for every project. GitHub offers plans for both private repositories and free accounts which are commonly used to host open-source software projects.

Git ensures all MTechnology Services product code is clean, clear and accessible at any time.

Development Coding Standards

The IDesign C# Coding Standard, for development guidelines and best practices. The iDesign coding standard is the benchmark in producing well written, easy interpreted and high quality code.

The ‘Make Good’ Delivery Policy
